Amelia is the middle of three children who grew up in Westbury, Wiltshire. She and her family lived in the family manor that had been part of the Bones family for quite some time. A bit of a tomboy she enjoyed spending time with her brothers, Edgar and Jonathan playing around the countryside that surrounded their house. Due to this she is littered with small scares from skinned knees and the sorts though many have faded during the years. Despite her tomboyish attitude she learnt to read and write at an early age and took pride in gaining knew knowledge. Amelia wanted and tried to learn anything she could get her hands on including muggle subjects, though she enjoyed spending time with her family most of all Amelia was also well known for her loyalty to her friends and her family.



Growing up with her parents they provided her with the knowledge that everyone was the same no matter what their background was. The Bones had always believed in this and never supported the traditional Pureblood ideals that they were better than everyone else. This didn't sit well with some of her friends but they learnt to deal with it or she wouldn't hang around them anymore. This is one of the reasons that when she went to Hogwarts that the hat suggested that she didn't go into Slytherin though she was ambitious enough she would have had a hard time fitting in due to her beliefs.



She first used accidental magic when she was nearly two and wanted her soft toy 'Bunny' which was a toy rabbit that she had received when she was born. As no one was currently around her they didn't hear her crying so she eventually levitated it to her playpen where she was at the time. She quickly began to perform accidental magic a lot from then on when she wanted something and no one was there to give it to her.



Her years were quite but eventful. Sorted into Hufflepuff she excelled in her classes especially Defence and Potions though she did quite well in Charms and Transfiguration. She became close friends with everyone in her house as well as people outside of it regardless of their house or blood heritage. At the end of her first year she finished third in her year. In her second year she tried out and succeeded getting on to her house Quidditch team as one of the chasers. She continued to succeed in her classes and finished second in her year. Her third and fourth years went in relatively the same manner though in third year she began extra training in Defence and fourth year in Potions resulting in her being known as a teacher's pet and know it all outside of her house but she didn't care.



In her fifth year she was named Prefect for Hufflepuff and took her job quite seriously. During the year she continued her extra classes in preparation for OWL's though she spent more time studying than learning new material as she had learnt a lot of it in the previous years from her education. It was this year that people stopped calling her a teacher's pet and realised that she actually had an advantage over them in knowing the material. Sixth and seventh year went by relatively quickly with her being named Head Girl in seventh year.



Upon graduating from Hogwarts she was accepted into Auror training and was called a natural at it. She also gained a reputation of being quite fair and no-nonsense sort of person. Becoming a full Auror in 1970 she quickly rose through the ranks until she got to where she was today as one of the higher ranked Auror's. Her parent's originally weren't all that fond of her working but they eventually gave in to her demands



In her personal life she spent the majority of it at home by herself or spent time with her brothers Edgar, Jonathan and their families. She dated a couple of men during that time but none of them lasted for very long. When her brother's and their family was killed, apart from her niece Susan. While they had not been terribly close they were still family. She was given gaurdianship of her niece and raised her from then on as if she was her own daughter.



When her brother started to show progressive ideas she came under scrutiny because of them but she kept her head down and did what was expected of her and they eventually left her alone. She was pleased as she didn't support the progressives but then she didn't support the traditionalists- she just wanted to live out her life in peace.

Since then she managed to raise through the ranks of the DMLE to get to where she currently is as the Head of the Department.

She is kind and caring and although she can come across as bossy she genuinely cares for everyone and everybody no matter their backgrounds- unless they are out to harm the Wizarding World. Amelia values her friends and family above all else and would do anything to protect them. This is one of the reasons that she decided to become an Auror after leaving Hogwarts. Always willing to listen to people she won’t judge them until she is positive she has all the facts and she isn’t being judgemental about the situation.



She also abhors people who lie as she believes it shows that not only that they are insecure with themselves and being around people but they are cowards who are afraid to speak the truth- not that she agrees with hurting people by speaking the truth as in those situations she believes in saying nothing at all. While growing up she decided that lying was common among the Pureblood elitists and as she wanted nothing to do with them she eventually came to her current opinion of people who regularly lied.



Not only is Amelia known for her fairness and loyalty she is also known for her stubbornness that she inherited from her mother’s family. Amelia’s stubbornness has caused her a lot of problems in the past and will continue to do so as once she sets her mind on a goal or a fact that she believes to be correct it is very hard to get her to change her mind. With the latter one she is more than willing to change her mind if you have believable facts that can be backed up by evidence- in other words you have to show her something is accurate for her to change her mind. Strengths: Defence, Potions, level-headedness, fair, friendly, loyal

Weaknesses: Stubborn, herbology, quick to anger and annoy if provoked, her family's safety

Fears: her niece dead

Quirks: Fiddles with her hair when nervous, spoils Susan to no end

Likes: her family, chocolate, dueling, peace and quite, defence, potions, friends, books, fairness

Dislikes: betrayal, herbology, cats, dogs, liers, being used
