PERSONALITY

Astoria is a socialites who loves people. Given a chance to spend time with people or be by herself she will choose to be with people. This doesn't mean that she would gossip unnecessarily about people, she just loves to spend time with people she considers to be friends. In fact she prefers not to gossip at all if she can help it but of course, she does occasionally- she is a girl after all. Astoria's main charm is her way with people. She can get anyone to open up to her if she desires and she can listen to what they say without being judgmental. Not only that but Astoria is also a hard worker, though she subconsciously tries not to outshine her sister who she has always hero-worshiped. She wants to succeed in life but not outshine her sister. This might be viewed as a problem if Daphne wasn't so bent on achieving the best she could either, this means that majority of the time that Astoria naturally works to the best of her ability. As previous mentioned above, Astoria has a slight case of hero-worship, not only for her sister but for anyone who she perceives as being better than her. This has included professional Quidditch Players, the Dark Lord, the Malfoy's, some of the Ministry workers and the like. This was born from being the younger of two children and spending a lot of time with Daphne which brought about her seeing her sister get everything she wanted before her (not that Astoria didn't get everything she wanted). She saw them achieve and wanted to be just like them, but at the same time happy with her job. With small bones she looks healthy and not sickly like many people would if they were her height and weight. Her dress sense is often described as casually formal and is made up of mostly slacks and shirts or skirts and shirts- in and out of work. During her childhood she had long hair as her father liked it like that but after graduating from Hogwarts she cut it into the short bob that it is today. Her eyes are a ice blue that often say look like she is mad at them. She also- to her father's disgust- got her eyes pierce twice in the lobe and once at the top.

HISTORY

Born on June 23 1982, Astoria Lilian is the youngest of two daughters born to the Greengrass family. As a young child she often played with her older sister Daphne who she looked up to and still does look up to. Spoiled, just like her sister, Astoria received anything she wanted, no questions asked. Despite this, Astoria didn't' grow to be a spoiled princess that many people would have thought that most people in that situation did become. Along with Daphne, Astoria under took many lessons as a child but unlike her sister she didn't take to instruments but proved to be a natural at singing to her parents delight. In their other subjects though she never out shone her sister. To this day, even Astoria doesn't know whether that was due to her hero-worship of her older sister or her actual ability. Not surprisingly, the year she turned eleven she received an owl to Hogwarts. Her family had known for years that she was a Witch- not that they had expected otherwise given her family heritage- but she had first performed magic at the age of three when she summoned a toy to her. The morning she received it, Astoria danced around the house yelling with joy much to her parent's displeasure as they preferred the quite- and it wasn't proper behaviour for a young lady to begin with. The next day she received. The next day to her delight they went to Diagon Alley to get her text books. For the next two or so months she studied them religiously, trying to memorize them so she wouldn't have trouble at school. Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Astoria was sorted into Slytherin much to her delight though she wouldn't have minded Ravenclaw, as it was the other acceptable house- though Slytherin was the best. During her years at Hogwarts she didn't keep to the background but also didn't force herself into the foreground. She had a small group of friends that she spent a lot of time with but she also didn't hesitate to interact with other people as it became necessary. Getting decent marks in all her subjects she knew she could go into what ever career she wanted but she found that she enjoyed spending time with people the most. So, when it came to career counseling in her fifth year it was suggested she go into Public Relations which she readily took to. During that year she had faded more into the background just so she wouldn't attract a lot of attention from the Carrow's who she found creepy. During the Battle of Hogwarts she quite willingly went with the other students into the safe zones. During that time she talked to the younger years and helped calm them down while reassuring them that it would all be alright. The next two years at Hogwarts were like her first four years though it took awhile for the school to return to what it once was. While at Hogwarts she had a handful of relationships with other boys in her house and Ravenclaw but nothing ever came of them- except a love of sex on her part. Now though she is putting her relationships on the back burner and focusing on her job- that isn't to say if she finds someone she lieks she won't date them. After graduating from Hogwarts, Astoria applied for a position in the Public Relations department at the Ministry and was readily accepted. Three weeks after graduating she started her new job and fell in love with it. She enjoyed the work it brought her and the fact that she got to interact with a wide range of people. Today she is one of the more senior members of her department due to her natural ability at it and is working on one day becoming head of the department.
