THE FAMILY Parents Mother: Druella Rosier While growing up Narcissa adored her mother and was a favourite of her mother's. From her mother she learnt how to love her family, how to be a proper Pureblood woman and all sorts of other things. Narcissa would describe her mother not only as a mother but a friend, protector and confident in all matters to do with her life. Father: Cygnus Black Her relationship with her father is nowhere near as close as that of her and her mother but she does respect him and love him none the less. Also viewed as a protector of sorts Cygnus is someone that she can trust to make sure she is doing everything properly and has the best that she possibly can in life Siblings Bellatrix Lestrange nee Black While growing up Narcissa hero-worshiped her oldest sister. She seemed perfect in everyway. She was smart, excelled at the Dark Arts, spoke her mind but knew when to be quite and everything that Narcissa deemed perfect. When Andromeda was disowned the two of them grow closer as they were the only siblings the other had now Andromeda Tonks nee Black As a child Narcissa thought that there was something special about Andromeda and that she would go a long way when she grew up. She liked the fact that Andromeda was so different from Bella even though she loved and was friends with both of them. When Andromeda was disowned, Narcissa was devastated. She still loves and misses her sister even though she doesn't let on about it. Cousins Sirius Black Narcissa finds Sirius rather annoying and immature as well as a disappointment to the family for being sorted into Gryffindor and befriending the people that he did Regulus Black Narcissa was fond of Regulus growing up even though they didn't have much to do with each other given the age gap between them and even more family members Husband Lucius, is her life and soulmate. She considers him her best friend and cant' imagine life without him. She loves to spoil him and be spoiled by him and is more than content to have him in her life Son Draco, along with Lucius is the apple of her eye. He can do no wrong and she loves to spoil him too. She will support him through everything that happens to him in his life
THE APPEARANCE
Standing at just over 5'5" Narcissa is quite slim but not overly so. Her blonde hair, which is rather unusual for someone in the Black Family, falls down to not far below her shoulders and is slightly wavy. Along with her blue eyes and high cheek bones she looks rather delicate and fragile though she isn't at all like this. Along with her husband Lucius, she only wears the best of clothes that money can buy as she won't accept anything less than that. As they have been short of money after the war this has changed slightly and while she is still wearing decent clothes they aren't the best... unless they were ones from before and during the war. THE PERSONALITY
Narcissa is an intricate person. While she is a typical Pureblood in many situations she is also completely different in other ones. She values loyalty to her friends and family above all else as a result of her relationship with her mother whom she was extremely close to as a child. She believes that if one does not have loyal friends and family that they cannot go as far as they can in life as they would be able to if they had friends and family to support each other in their lives endeavours. Narcissa also secretly believes that if she had spent more time with Andromeda and cultivated their friendship that perhaps she might have stayed loyal to the family and not run off with Ted Tonks. Her loyalty to Lucius is so fierce as well as her mother, father and Bella in hopes that she won't have to go through something like that again. Despite believing in loyalty Narcissa doesn’t believe in being honest to people if they aren’t a close family member as she believes that telling the complete truth can be used against her in ways that could be disastrous for her and her family. If they are a close member of her family she will be honest with them as she knows that she can trust them to not tell people things that she wants to stay secret and give her an honest opinion of what they think of something if she needs the advice. These are mainly her sister Bella, her mother and her uncle Orion. Not only did Druella teach Narcissa loyalty and her opinions on honesty she taught Narcissa how to use her looks and personality to get what she wanted out of people. Over the years she honed this charm to what it is today where she can just smile and act kind to someone to get them to believe that she is sincere in what she is saying. Many people like this as they always enjoy having someone listen to them even though Narcissa is only doing this to find out information that she or her husband can use at a later date to blackmail them into doing something that they otherwise wouldn't do. Growing up as a member of the Black family she learnt that she was the best of the best and expected to be treated as such. Due to this she only believes that other high Pureblood's are worth socialising with and even then she believes that she is better than the majority of them. Often looking down at people over her nose like there is a stench in the air she displays her distaste for Halfbloods, mudbloods and blood traitors like it comes naturally for her. While this has made her a few enemies she isn't at all fazed by it as it is part of who she is. Narcissa is probably the least open minded you can come. While she will listen to people’s opinions if they are from trusted friends and family she generally doesn’t listen to opinions as a rule. This is mostly due to her upbringing as it taught her that the only people worth listening to are her family, other Purebloods of the same standing and close friends. It is very hard to get her to change her opinion on something if she has gotten something into her head whether it is something she wants to do or an opinion about someone else Despite all of her other traits Narcissa is first and foremost as socialite. She loves throwing balls and tea parties of others by similar standards and embraces the praise and respect that comes from throwing them. Cissa could spend all her time planning and throwing these events as it brings her great joy to see everyone worthy of knowing in the same place at once without the restrictions of being around lesser beings (Halfbloods, mudbloods etc). She also loves having the finest of clothes, food and drink around her and proudly displays that she can easily afford to purchase and use these things like it was an everyday occurrence which for her it most likely is. THE HISTORY
Born on May 2nd 1955 to Cygnus and Druella Black she was the youngest of three children. Being the youngest meant that she didn't have as much pressure on her to behave properly though she did do so none the less. As a young child she spent much time with her sisters playing and learning with them even though she tended to worship them and think they were the best there could be. Even before she turned five she had her mother wrapped around her finger and would spend many hours with her just talking of sitting on her lap. Druella was her protector and mother, she would protect her from anything and dote on her like no-one else would, she was Druella's baby and nothing would change that, even when she grew up. Her relationship with her father was slightly different to that of her one with her mother. Narcissa knows that she can depend on her father to have what is best for her. He was the one at the age of five or six that started to teach her the basics of magical theory, reading and writing to make sure she would be able to keep up with her sisters and go along way in her life after all it wouldn't do to have a Black who failed school instead of graduating near the top of her class. Even with the lessons from her father in academics her mother spent a lot of time telling her stories about her life as a child as well as teaching her how to be a proper young lady. From Druella she inherited her passion for clothes and tea parties and took great delight in learning all about how these things worked which pleased Druella greatly as her two other daughters weren't all that interested in that sort of thing. Many nights Narcissa ended up in Druella's bed cuddling up to her as she would feel warm and secure in her arms. When Bellatrix and then Andromeda went off to Hogwarts leaving Narcissa at home she found refuge with her mother who would comfort her and take her mind off it. During those four years her mother and she grew even closer so that by the time Narcissa turned eleven she didn't want to leave her mother behind even though she was going to Hogwarts like she had always dreamt of doing. At Hogwarts she was immediately sorted into Slytherin like the rest of her family, pleasing her parents and older sisters to no end. While at first she was rather quite and known as 'Bellatrix's youngest sister' she eventually made herself a few friends and grew out of her shell eventually becoming a popular young woman with her housemates. While she worked at the majority of subjects (Charms, Defence, Transfiguration and Potions) she refused to work in some of the subjects that didn't interest her and 'weren't proper subjects for young ladies to take (Herbology and History of Magic- she preferred reading books on her own for this subject than go to class). By the time she started her fourth year she had noticed Lucius Malfoy, a Slytherin boy the year above her at Hogwarts. He was perfect in everyway she could imagine- handsome, smart, pureblood, determined and not afraid to take control. When Andromeda was disowned from the family in her seventh year she had been devastated that her sister would do something like that to her and their family. Narcissa had always expected Andromeda to do something unexpected with her life but hadn't even considered that it would be something that would get her disowned from the family. Graduating from Hogwarts in 1973 with a decent amount of NEWT's she continued to court Lucius and spend time with her family until two years after she had graduated from Hogwarts when her dream came true and her and Lucius were married on Christmas Eve in the gardens of Malfoy Manor. For the next year and a half they travelled the world and they became some of her fondest memories of their time together. After that it all began to change. Narcissa knew Lucius was becoming involved with the raising Dark Lord and did not like that- while she supported his ideals she did not believe in going about it that way. She tried to stop him from taking the mark but he wouldn't listen to her no matter how often she tried to get him to change his mind. It didn't help matters that she kept trying to get him to talk about what he was doing. Narcissa was also aware of the number of affairs that he was having and resented that for at one point she had loved her husband. After one of these affairs had ended, she fell pregnant with Draco. At first neither were happy- Lucius because he wanted to be older, Narcissa because she didn't want their child to have to face her husband but as it progressed, Lucius began to change though she wasn't sure how long it would last. Narcissa began to love the idea of a child and being able to spoil it. In 1980 Draco, first and only child were born and the both of them were ecstatic. Narcissa had her child, Lucius had his heir. Over the next few months their marriage slipped again- or so Narcissa thought as Lucius would spend hours away again- she never knew the truth. In 1981 when the Dark Lord was defeated Narcissa and Draco immediately headed back to England worried over her husband's fate. When they reached Malfoy Manor, Lucius had already been arrested and was awaiting trail. Narcissa, with the help of Lucius and his friends in the Ministry managed to bribe enough people to let him off with the claim that he was under the imperious. The claim worked and Lucius got off much to Narcissa's relief. Over the next eleven years the two of them raised Draco to be a Pureblood heir while giving him a bit more leeway over what he could and couldn't do. He often spent time with the other Pureblood children that would be going into his year when he started Hogwarts though he found some of them rather annoying he did put up with them. While Draco was doing this, Narcissa would spend a lot of time socialising with their parents and other Pureblood women, further entrenching her name. Once Draco started school, Narcissa sent him care packages full of sweets every day for all his seven years- she had no idea if he liked them or not but it was her way of showing that she was still thinking of him. Lucius and her continued their relationship and peaceful life until the beginning of Draco's fourth year when they started to fear for their lives again. Lucius's Dark Mark was returning and that only meant one thing- the Dark Lord was on the raise once again. When the Dark Lord returned, Narcissa felt fear like she had never had before. She was scared for her husband and son, and what would happen to them for surely, Lucius wouldn't get out of serving his lord and Draco was bound to be recruited when he left Hogwarts. The next year was full of fear that something would happen to her husband that would result in him being captured by the Ministry and sent to Azkaban. Her fears unfortunately came true in June that year when Lucius was captured at the Department of Mysteries and sent to Azkaban. With Lucius in Azkaban, the Dark Lord demanding her son kill Dumbledore, Narcissa barely held her family together, she didn't know how she would survive with her world is falling apart around her. With the only people she trusts fully being her sister Bellatrix and Severus Snape. That year was horrible and towards the end of it her world did collapse. Draco was on the run and wasn't welcome at Hogwarts... for awhile at least. During that summer the Dark Lord managed to take over the Ministry, release Lucius and the others from Azkaban and place Severus as Headmaster of Hogwarts. Everything would have been perfect except for the fact that the Dark Lord was using their house for his base without any permission from them and with her loyalty waning... it wasn't good on her nerves. It didn't take long for Lucius and her to realise that the Dark Lord didn't care about them but only about advancing himself. It was around then that they decided to do anything they could to save themselves. During that year Lucius pretended to be loyal to the Dark Lord until the Battle of Hogwarts occured. Starting with Narcissa lying to him about Harry Potter being dead the two of them decided to save their own family no matter what the risk was. After finding Draco during the battle in the Great Hall the three of them huddled in a corner and just tried to stay out of harms way. After the battle ended, Lucius was unfortunately killed by another Death Eater, leaving Narcissa heart broken as she had fallen in love with her husband once again seeing that he had changed in some ways- he wasn't as distant and that mattered a lot to her. Luckily Draco and her were let off as Harry Potter testified to what they did to him and combined with their change of heart they were declared innocent to an extent- they did have many restrictions placed on them though. A lot of their money was taken for retribution for their crimes, their house was searched and all Dark Arts material was taken and they were only allowed to travel within the confines of the UK. While not many people were originally too accepting of them they have slowly began to find a place in respectable society once again.
