Appearance

Standing at 5' 7" she is reasonably tall for a woman which comes from her mother's family which have always had tall women. Quite slender she has long brown hair that falls dead straight to the middle of her back. Her eyes are also a deep brown colour under perfectly arched eyebrows. Often wearing blue or green clothes they stand out against her pale skin and go well with her hair and eyes.

She doesn't have many defining marks but her main one is a scar across the small of her back from when boiling water fell on her when she was about three and in the kitchens during one of her mother's lessons.

Personality

An overall quiet person she is fiercely protective of those she calls friends and family. While it takes a lot for her to actively dislike someone shown by the fact that she never hated her father even after he left Hogwarts it takes a lot for her to trust someone. Helena has always preferred the quietness of the Library over spending time with friends though she will spend time with them each day she much prefers a company of a good book. Very introverted but friendly a lot of people like her and she gets along with pretty much everyone no matter what their background is.

Due to being raised in the spotlight because of her mother helping build Hogwarts she hates it and prefers to be alone. One of the things this causes is many people thinking that they can use her to get to know her mother which usually backfires as she hates being used and this has eventually caused her to become very untrusting of those she doesn't know and those that she does know it will take a lot for her to willingly trust them. The only people she fully trusts is her mother, father, Aunt and Uncle. Another reason she is so untrusting of people is that they often think she should be like her mother when in fact she isn't like her at all apart from their love of reading and learning. She wants people to see her for who she is and not for whom her mother is.

Being raised at Hogwarts has taught her to be open-minded about everyone and all magical creatures. When she wasn't with her family she spent her time in the Kitchens with the house elves that her Aunt Helga had rescued and employed for Hogwarts. Forming friendships with them showed her that they were just the same as humans and should not be underestimated.

Likes: Healing, Charms, theory of the Dark Arts, Magical theory (anything really), friends, family, books, beautiful things (like her mother's diadem), good appearances, loyalty and honesty, independence and free thinking

History

Born on the 3 day of May 1002 to Rowena Meryl Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Named after her mother's grandmother and her best friend Helga Hufflepuff, she grew up in Hogwarts with her mother and their family. As a young child she was doted upon by her mother, father and their friends- Godric and Helga who became her surrogate aunt and uncle (Uncle Rick and Aunt Helga). Often accompanying her mother to classes the students of Hogwarts quickly became fond of her.

At the age of five her mother began to teach her how to read and write as well as simple Arithmacy. She quickly took to her studies and at the age of seven began learning simple spells before she quickly showed proficiency at healing magicks. As she was so young she didn't know exactly what was happening to her Father but she did know something was wrong. The night of her Father and Uncle's battle in the Great Hall was one she will always remember with great clarity. It was the night her life changed forever. She lost her Father and never heard from him again and her uncle changed in ways that she didn't like. Her mother and Aunt Helga tried to distract her but it didn't always work unfortunately.

At the age of eleven she began Hogwarts and was sorted into Ravenclaw to her mother's delight but she secretly wished her Father was there to see her proud moment. She quickly became friends with everyone in her year, no matter what house they were in and continued her friendships with the older students. Showing great aptitude in her subjects she was sometimes known as a know-it-all bookworm even inside her own house but she didn't mind. Learning was her passion and nothing would deter her from it.

At the age of fifteen she came across her mother's diadem that she usually wore and fell in love with it as she had the chance to have a proper look at it. That was when she swore that she would one day own it herself.

Three months later she was engaged to a Baron that her mother's family was acquainted with. The two of them quickly became firm friends and looked forward to their wedding after she graduated from Hogwarts. Graduating from Hogwarts in 1019 she stayed on at Hogwarts as a teaching assistant. Her fiancé didn't like this, he wanted her to be a stay-at home wife and of course this idea disgusted her as she had always been an independent woman. As she refused to back down and give into his wishes they had a massive argument which resulted in him leaving and refusing to marry her. This infuriated her mother but when Helena explained her reasoning she accepted it though she didn't like it all that much.

The next few years passed quietly enough despite the rumours of Father teaching the Dark Arts to people. What no one knew was that she was secretly interested in them but she knew that she could never learn them or have great aptitude for them given her talent for the healing arts.

In 1028 she heard about the battle between her Father and Uncle Rick and was devastated with what happened, especially when Salazar was killed. He had always been a favourite of hers. Not long after that her Uncle Rick died leaving another hole in her heart. Her mother, Aunt Helga and her where never the same after that...

Taking to bed sick after her Father's execution she stayed there for a couple of month’s heart broken. Then she forced herself to get up and move on with life. There was nothing else she could do about what happened. Not long after she got up was when her last Uncle died due to a spell cast on him during his battle with Salazar.

In 1030 she experienced a bout of insanity and stole her mother's diadem which she still wanted to own desperately and ran away to Albania. While she was there her mother fell desperately ill and get in contact with her ex-fiancé who she had gotten back in contact with the previous year needing someone who was affected by her Uncle and Father's deaths to comfort her. Her two peaceful months their ended when he arrived and begged her to come back not mentioning her mother's illness, just saying that he wanted her back in England. Enraged he killed her and then killed himself in remorse.
